NEW YORK, NY and NOUAKCHOTT, MAURITANIA, April 24, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Vestige Gold Inc. publicly announced a previously executed Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Ministry of Mines and Industry of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, establishing a framework for cooperation in support of responsible mineral exploration and broader technical collaboration in Mauritania.
The MOU sets out a basis for cooperation between Vestige Gold and the Ministry in relation to the assessment, identification, and potential development of Mauritania’s mineral resources. The framework also contemplates coordination with the Ministry’s technical arm, the National Agency for Geological Research and Mineral Heritage (ANARPAM), in connection with exploration activities in jointly identified areas, subject to applicable legal, regulatory, and operational considerations.
Through this framework, the parties intend to advance collaboration across a number of priority areas, including geological, geophysical, and geochemical exploration; technical reporting and information exchange; local hiring, training, and procurement support; institutional and workforce capacity-building; and the application of responsible environmental, social, and governance standards. The MOU also contemplates ongoing engagement to review progress and support constructive cooperation over time.
Vestige Gold believes Mauritania represents an important jurisdiction for long-term mineral development, supported by geological potential, an established mining sector, and an increasing emphasis on transparent and sustainable investment frameworks. Within that context, the company views the MOU as an important step toward developing a constructive working relationship with national mining stakeholders while evaluating future opportunities in a disciplined and responsible manner.
“Vestige Gold is honored to publicly share this framework for cooperation with the Ministry of Mines and Industry of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania,” said Aditya Raj Kothari, Chief Executive Officer of Vestige Gold Inc. “We believe Mauritania offers compelling long-term mineral potential, and we look forward to contributing technical expertise, supporting local capacity-building, and pursuing responsible exploration initiatives aligned with international standards and national development priorities.”
Among other areas of focus, the MOU references responsible exploration practices, support for community-conscious development, and ESG-related commitments including ethical governance, sustainability, innovation, and women’s empowerment. The framework also provides for follow-up engagement between the parties as opportunities are evaluated and cooperation evolves.
The MOU is intended to provide a basis for cooperation between the parties. Except for expressly binding provisions set out in the document, it reflects the parties’ intentions and contemplates that any definitive, legally binding agreements relating to specific projects may be entered into separately, if and when appropriate.
